Is there a free version of the app?

Question:

Is there a free version of the app?

Answer:

Yes — you're welcome to use "Your DNA family" for free today. There's no charge to sign up, install the app, and start building your family tree.

The app runs on credits. Credits cover the heavier work behind the scenes — for example, the DNA comparisons that turn your matches into triangulated groups. The good news is that you earn credits as you take part: adding a DNA file, inviting a DNA cousin who joins, and forming your first triangulated groups all top you up.

For a clear, plain-English overview of how credits work and how you earn them, visit our credits page.

We currently don't charge for using the app. If that ever changes for some features, we'll always tell you in advance.
